3. User Obligations
When using ConvertPDF, you agree to:
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with applicable laws.

- Not attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the Service or its underlying infrastructure.
- Not use automated scripts, bots, or crawlers to access the Service in a manner that places undue burden on our systems.
- Not click on advertisements displayed on the Service in any artificial or fraudulent manner.
4. Intellectual Property
Your Content: You retain all rights to the documents, images, and files you process using ConvertPDF. Since all processing happens locally in your browser, we never have access to, ownership of, or any claim to your content.
Our Content: The ConvertPDF website, its design, logo, branding, original text, and code are owned by ConvertPDF and protected under applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. The underlying source code is licensed under the MIT License and is available on GitHub.
Third-Party Libraries: ConvertPDF uses open-source libraries (pdf-lib, mammoth.js, marked, KaTeX, Prism.js, and others) which are each governed by their respective licenses.
5. Privacy
Your privacy is important. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle data. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.

- Loss of data, profits, or revenue.
- Corruption of files during conversion.
- Interruption of business or personal work.
- Any damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid to use the Service (which is $0, as the Service is free).
9. Third-Party Links and Services
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by ConvertPDF. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services.
The Service may also display advertisements served by third-party networks (such as Google). Those providers have their own terms and privacy policies governing how they use cookies and device data. Where required, we ask for your consent through our cookie banner before enabling personalized advertising.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ConvertPDF and its developer(s) from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or any violation of these Terms.
11. Modifications to the Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms of Service at any time by posting an updated version on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
13. Ethical Use of Client-Side Tools
ConvertPDF is designed to empower individuals with powerful, private document tools. We expect our users to utilize these tools in an ethical and responsible manner. While our client-side architecture prevents us from monitoring or restricting the content you process, this does not absolve you of the responsibility to respect the intellectual property rights of others. By using our Service to convert, merge, or modify documents, you represent that you have the necessary rights and permissions to perform those actions on the files in question.
Furthermore, we encourage users to consider the social impact of the documents they generate. Tools like our QR Code Generator or Markdown to PDF converter should not be used to facilitate the spread of misinformation, hate speech, or malicious content. Our goal is to create a platform that fosters productivity, creativity, and privacy. We rely on our community to uphold these values and to use ConvertPDF as a tool for positive digital interaction.
14. Community and Open Source Contributions
As an open-source project, ConvertPDF thrives on the contributions and feedback of its community. While these Terms of Service govern the use of the hosted Service at convert-pdf-tool.netlify.app, the underlying source code is available for anyone to study, modify, and distribute under the MIT License. We welcome pull requests, bug reports, and feature suggestions via our GitHub repository. By contributing to the project, you agree that your contributions will be licensed under the same MIT License, allowing them to remain free and accessible to everyone.
We are grateful to the developers of the open-source libraries that make ConvertPDF possible. Our success is built upon the collective effort of thousands of developers who believe in a more open and accessible web. We encourage our users to explore the world of open source and to support the projects that provide the building blocks for modern digital tools. Together, we can build a more transparent and user-centric digital future.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation, and if necessary, through arbitration or the courts of competent jurisdiction.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
